TESTIMONIALS

Through covid plans, cancellations and plans again, Jen and Ian worked with us to make our family holiday possible. We truly enjoyed the tranquility of the property and the opportunity to be one with nature. Our children (3,6,9) loved the vast opportunities to explore, treasure hunt, swim in the river and jump on the in-ground trampoline. As much joy as we found in the property, Shadow the caretaker, was equally excellent. Our children and my husband and I genuinely enjoyed her company and her hospitality. We will have many opportunities to travel to north Brisbane and this will be on our short list of accommodations. Highly recommend!

Serene, peaceful escape
The name of this home could not be more appropriate. We were running away from our noisy neighbours and we found peace and serenity at Maleny. Situated on the banks of the Obi Obi Creek the property is secluded and quiet. You almost forget the world exists. We had the privilege of staying in the main house. The nights were a bit chilly but the house was so cosy. Freshly laid eggs are supplied and some delicious home made fruit cake and bikkies. Even our fur son loved it. Jen & Ian we’re far away in Berlin but they still checked in on us and left us some beautiful messages. We will definitely be returning to Runaway to Maleny.

Bound for bliss

WOW WOW WOW
This property is truly amazing, easily the best place I have stayed at and am counting down the days until I can go back! My partner and I spent 4 nights here and loved every minute of it. From waking up to the sound of the creek running, reading in hammocks, waiting in anticipation to see which door Pasha The Magic Door Opening Cat would appear from, collecting fresh eggs, the fireplace, the views, the silence....I could go on and on. It is a beautiful part of the world and Ian, Jen and gorgeous Shadow are the best hosts you could ask for!!

An Incredible stay with a rainforest at your doorstep
This place is a little slice of heaven on earth. Situated above a river surrounded by a rainforest canopy, the sound of flowing water can be heard from any room in this home, with giant windows and sliding doors you are able to truly appreciate your surroundings.

Go exploring and you will find your own personal sauna by the river's edge- definitely a must! For those more adventures types, there's even a flying fox that takes you across the river to explore the other bank!

The living quarters are incredible. Polish timber floors, a huge bed (and I mean huge), state of the art kitchen, twin showers, a freestanding egg bath that easily fits two and wait for it an actual grand piano!

But what took my breath away was the Shala, which is beautiful and functional.

There's a peacefulness to this place, achieved in equal parts by the landscape and the curated spaces Jen and Ian have made.

You don't just Runaway to Malaney, a piece of you wants to stay forever.
