Runaway to Maleny is owned by Jen & Ian who are a remarkable couple and so hospitable. It’s situated in the quiet hinterland of Maleny backing onto Obi-Obi Creek which was flowing well after plenty of rain.
It is also possible to swim in the large water hole a five or six minute walk from your accommodation. I joined the yoga group a couple of times and they were very welcoming.
Maleny has plenty to offer and Runaway is a short drive to the centre of town. Contact Jen to make your getaway a reality.

We just love to Runaway to Maleny to get away from the madness of the city. Jen and Ian are such great hosts and we always feel at home whenever we come to stay. The place is in such a tranquil and quiet area next to the Obi Obi River that all you hear and feel is the sound of the river and the native birds. To awake each morning to the sounds of mother nature is the reason we keep on coming back. Thanks Jen and Ian much love always.

We had such a wonderful stay at Jen and Ian’s place. Honestly, I’ll never forget it. They have created an unbelievable space that is peaceful and wondrous. Fireplace, sauna, fresh water to jump into (initiation rock!) and a huge natural area to explore. Plenty of entertainment provided. Truly the perfect spot to escape and enjoy with partner and friends. We adored the cats (forgot its name) company as well - what a cutie! Through covid plans, cancellations and plans again, Jen and Ian worked with us to make our family holiday possible. We truly enjoyed the tranquility of the property and the opportunity to be one with nature. Our children (3,6,9) loved the vast opportunities to explore, treasure hunt, swim in the river and jump on the in-ground trampoline. As much joy as we found in the property, Shadow the caretaker, was equally excellent. Our children and my husband and I genuinely enjoyed her company and her hospitality. We will have many opportunities to travel to north Brisbane and this will be on our short list of accommodations. Highly recommend!

Where to begin... Words cannot explain the beauty nor any photo. Has to be seen and experienced. With out a doubt would recommend this home to anyone wanting a hinterland getaway. Has private waterfall and swimming holes, huge creek, trampoline deck, ( kids spend all day on this!), sauna, big bath, double showers, massive bed, beautiful walks , flying fox ... I can keep going!! But has to be experienced Beautiful hosts full of information ready to help with any query. To sum up in one word PERFECT Light is an easy to read font, with tall and narrow letters, that works well on almost every site.

Thank you so much for letting us share in your piece of Paradise, wow what a superb spot you have there. The perfect place to escape the worries of the world and just relax. Picture perfect would put it in a nutshell. We had a lovely stay the kids had an absolute ball from swinging to jumping to exploring the creek. Have to admit R being an animal lover was in her element with both Hamish and the cat sorry didn’t quite get the cats name.( hope they have both recovered from the constant attention.) A great place to get some great photos if you are like me and can’t go anywhere without bugging the family for just few ( hundred) shots. All in all a great time was had by all of us and we arrived back feeling ready to face the rat race again.

We just loved staying at Jen and Ian's house. The grounds are just beautiful, waking up to the sound of the river, taking a walk through the bush, we had a quick swim under the waterfall and took a fun spin on the flying fox. Despite Jen being overseas she responded quickly and made a big effort to make us feel welcome. Her son, was an amazing host and gave us a tour of the grounds, and advice on the best choice of local cheese! The house is a beautiful private escape, whilst only being a short drive from town. We hope to come back and look forward to meeting Jen and Ian in person!

The stay at Runaway exceeded all of our expectations. With a last minute booking we were greeted with the warmest welcome. The beautiful property gave the perfect mix of relaxation and activities. From the sauna by the river to jumping off the initiation rock, it is a getaway we could not recommend higher.

My wife and I stayed at Jen and Ian's tranquil home and were treated to a warm and welcoming experience. This was the perfect romantic winter escape for my wife's birthday. The fully self contained and separate guest quarters is pleasant, modern, clean and full of

We rented out the entire property, for us and our family to stay at, while in Maleny for our wedding! From the moment we started communication with Jen & Ian, we knew we had made the right decision, not only is their place amazingly beautiful, they are awesome people, with great customer service and such a friendly nature. Nothing was too much trouble and they were always there accommodate us in whatever we needed. We absolutely loved every moment of our stay and our wedding day was perfect, the photo’s we got were gorgeous, with all the amazing views. There was so much room for us to get ready. There was so much for our little girl to do, she loved the trampoline and walking up and down the hill, she had a ball. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to anyone, wanting somewhere special to stay, for their big day! Thanks again for everything, Jen and Ian.

We were fortunate to stay at Runaway at Maleny during a recent visit to Maleny for a wedding. We were greeted on arrival by both Jen and Ian (hosts) with Tea / coffee and the most amazing homemade cookies. Truly mouth watering. First impressions - well what can we say - truly wonderful. This beautiful array of buildings nestled amongst the natural bushland/hinterland with the feeling of total tranquillity. Fresh running water in the creek and even a waterfall. We were fortunate enough to have our daughter staying with us also and both she and my husband had a go on the flying fox, which is threaded thru the trees to the other side of the creek - both saying how much they enjoyed it. The atmosphere was unbelievable as both Jen and Ian were so friendly and accommodating. On one occasion both my husband and myself were unable to remember how to tie the tie for his suit and we felt no embarrassment at all when we went and asked for assistance from Ian. Because we were enjoying our visit so much we stayed an extra night. This was NO problem for Jen and Ian who allowed us to use the special building / rooms for our extra nights stay. Just lying in bed in an open room listening to the running water flowing in the creek created an immense sense of relaxation. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and we had to return home. But I am sure we will be back to visit again. Thank you again Jen and Ian for a truly amazing experience.

A truly peaceful setting alongside the Obi Obi creek, waterfalls to explore and platypus to seek, as well as the enjoyment of extensive birdlife and gardens. Very friendly and helpful owners and a unique and comfortable cottage.

Upon first contact with Jen and Ian, it is hard to believe that two people could beso warm, welcoming and kind to people they had never met but once we arrived at Runaway to Maleny, we could see why two people could be so happy. They are the humble owners of a slice of Sunshine Coast Hinterland that could only be described as paradise. Runaway is set on a meandering stone lined creek featuring beautiful swimming holes (including the thrilling initiation rock jump of 10m +), waterfalls, an exhilarating flying fox across the creek and a plethora of native flora and fauna for the whole family to explore and discover. We stayed there with both of our children and our 9 year old daughter had an absolute ball jumping on the trampoline, going on bushwalks along the creek, playing on the flying fox and had more than enough room to run around and be a kid. Warm and inviting the accommodation is a direct reflection of the lovely owners. Squeaky clean, it is beautifully furnished and well equipped with comfortable beds and everything you could need to forget the outside world exists and seek sanctuary for days on end in this amazing, tranquil bush-land setting. Even though you wont want to leave Runaway is perfectly positioned being only an 8 minute drive to Maleny or 15 minutes to Montville with both towns having a selection of cafes, restaurants and shops. Whether you're looking for a romantic weekend getaway for 2 or somewhere tranquil to unwind while the kids explore the idyllic landscape Runaway is the place for you. We were made to feel so welcome by Jen and Ian and so will you. We will definitely be going back there to stay next time we are in the area and would have no hesitations in recommending Runaway To Maleny to anyone that is seeking somewhere welcoming, beautiful , and serene to stay and enjoy. Expectations were high leading up to our weekend escape to Maleny. We had read fantastic reviews about Runaway to Maleny & I for one am normally skeptical (or a realist) when it comes to a place that only has positive reviews - surely it can't be true! Well - IT IS!!! We fell in love the minute we drove down the driveway. We were warmly welcomed by property owners Ian & Jen, who we already knew would be gorgeous people from their prior communications with us. They made us feel at home and gave us a tour of the property and our abode for the coming days. The serenity of a beautiful countryside can not be conveyed in words, however only felt in the slowing heart beat as your mind and soul begin to unwind and breathe in the fresh air. The pristine creek that runs along the back of the property set the scene for exploring and adventure. The self contained housing reassures you of privacy & comfort (did we mention we fell in love with the massage chair!!!). Ian & Jen made sure we wanted for nothing & were at ease the entirety of our stay. We couldn't finish this review without mentioning our favourite part... Their Labradoodle Hamish - we fell in love!! Our only regret was not getting to spend more time at the property, with Ian & Jen and of course with Hamish. This venue would be ideal for couples, families and a group of friends looking for a special weekend away that they'll forever treasure.

Not only is this place exceptional Jen and Ian and their team were absolutely amazing. Private villa in a peaceful bush setting with access to private bushlands and river was awesome. Amenities included cooking facilities which was a great help to contain costs. Amazingly quiet - a true Runaway in a stunning bush setting. A WONDERFUL SURPRISE <br> I had an unexpected trip to Runaway from a last minute invitation. What a delightful surprise this place was. The accommodation is modern and tranquil. The view from the accommodation is simply beautiful and instantly puts you at ease. Jen and Ian our hosts took us on a rainforest adventure for a sauna and then dip in the nearby stream which was exhilarating! There is a yoga studio and I attended a morning session where I met some amazing people. I also indulged in a massage and it was the best massage I had ever experienced. Jen and Ian are lovely people and just want you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. It is only 5 minutes drive to the township of Maleny to all the culinary delights!

The owners, Jen & Ian are a lovely couple who are a pleasure to meet & easy to deal with & very welcoming & accomodating for the whole holiday experience. I cant speak highly enough of them, & then theres the spectacular property! So much natural beauty of beautiful Obi Obi Creek for your exclusive use all within a short easy stroll of your accommodation. So much to do, or so much not to do, the choice is yours! It is such a versatile property, it can be great for singles, couples, family & friends to enjoy relaxation, massage, yoga, sauna or explore the bush, swim in the numerous rock pools, utilise the countless rapids & waterfalls for a natural spa, jump or swing from tarzan ropes into the rock pools, have a go on the flying fox for an exhilarating ride, play or lay on the trampoline, relax on the deck overlooking the creek, be amazed by the huge bamboo growth or just sleep in the comfy king size bed after a shower in the most awesome bathroom Ive seen, twin basins,shared twin showers with a fish pond! It is very close to everything you want & need & all attractions, yet hidden away from the general public, it is so peaceful & quiet, the only noise is the constant running water to soothe your soul, & relax you & send you to sleep highlighted with the daytime birdsongs. i am so glad i found this place & met Ian & Jen & look forward to making my return in the future!

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Runaway to Maleny. Ian and Jen are the kindest people you will meet - they are such beautiful souls! We had our own little cottage (the master bedroom) with amazing views over the rainforest and a magnificent bathroom (free standing bath and double rain forest shower) Sitting on the veranda and listening to the nature was pure relaxation. Everything was set up beautifully and we couldn't have wished for a better place to be for our little weekend escape. The area is very peaceful and we loved swimming in the nearby creek (literally just down the hill). The creekside sauna made it extra special! It's the perfect place if you are looking for an escape from the busy city life, spending quality time with your partner and enjoying the tranquility of nature. Thank you so much Ian and Jen (and Skye of course who welcomed us warmly), we haven't felt so relaxed in a long time. We can't wait to come back!!

Jen and Ian are an absolute delight. Prior to staying at Runaway to Maleny I had called in for coffee with them and left feeling energised. They truly have such a wonderful approach to life and people- it rubs off and you leave feeling refreshed and happy! Jen and Ian are extremely welcoming and thoughtful. They provide everything you could ever need and MORE. As for their property- I have travelled quite a bit and it is such a magnificent part of Australia- I have highly recommended to all my family and friends after our stay there. It has its thrills (flying fox and an initiation rock- if you're game) but for those seeking a relaxing get away, a BBQ and wine in the shared outdoor area is divine, or read a book by the waterfall. I could honestly go on, but it is really something you must see for yourself :) One last recommendation would be the AMAZING masseuse (Jed & Ian will happily pass on her number). I've never had a better massage. An 11/10 for Jen & Ian and Runaway to Maleny :) I'll definitely be back there.

My partner and I had to go to a wedding in Maleny so we booked Runaway to Maleny for the night. Although Jen and Ian were away whilst we stayed there they were so incredibly helpful via email and even phone calls. Such beautiful people! The property is just perfect - quiet and full of nature but also very close to everything you could need. We loved the yoga shala and falling asleep to the noises of the creek - and being woken by the rooster was a different experience! Will definitely be coming back - thanks Jen and Ian!! :)

Despite only seeing Jen and Ian on the first day, they were the most hospitable hosts. They went above and beyond in making us feel welcome in their beautiful home. Runaway to Maleny is in the most perfect spot and the entire place is simply gorgeous. Pasha and Hamish (the cat and dog) are the best companions and made us feel right at home. Cannot recommend this place enough and will definitely be staying there again in the future. All in all it was the most relaxing holiday my partner and I have been on in a long time. Have to also recommend booking a massage with Jane in the shala.

A group of us stayed for a wedding and it was the perfect location for us! hidden away but still 10 minutes from town by car - the beautiful creek, swimming holes and Gardens as well as all of the outdoor entertaining one can dream of made it an ideal venue for us. The accommodation was lovely, the buildings are all modern and clean and feel very eco and 'in touch' with your surroundings...we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Tired and stressed? There is no better place for you than “Run away to Maleny”. This beautiful spot, a 5-pod family homestead is hidden in the heart of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland of Queensland, approximately 100 kilometres north of Brisbane. There, you will enjoy a complete rest in the middle of the most beautiful landscape. This is what we did a couple of weeks ago. Waking up in a separate wing of the estate, we witnessed the huge migration of "Caper White” butterflies, passing our large window with the sound of bell birds in the background. It was magical. Next to the guests’ quarters, there is a magnificent yoga room where you can relax or meditate to your heart’s content. Then you can walk along the creek in the magnificent and well-kept estate before breakfast in one of the town’s many cafés. A fabulous couple of days amongst nature at its best!

This property is by far one of the best I have been to. Starting with the room, it was incredibly well furnished with a pool table, two king sized beds, DVDs, kitchen pots and pans and utensils. It was well presented and looked clean and hygienic. The gardens outside the little villa were incredibly well maintained and the flying fox and trampoline (free of cost) were incredibly fun. The creek was less than a two minute walk away with a deep waterhole suitable for jumps. The location is idyllic as the sounds of the forest are incredibly soothing. I highly recommend this place to everyone! The owners of the property were also incredibly welcoming even though they were not physically present. Would love to visit again one day.

This place is just magical. You do not even need to leave the property. There is an amazing creek and waterfall right in the back yard- you can swim privately and spend the whole day in the water. The grounds are perfect and there's so many places to relax. Jen and Ian are the most beautiful hosts and they don't miss any aspect in their preparation to make sure you enjoy the stay. Just perfect. ☀️

We just stayed here for the weekend to get away from a hectic life. Jen and Ian have created the most wonderful peaceful property to escape to. We loved every minute of it, the daily walks to the private waterfall through the gardens were wonderful. Even had the pleasure of meeting Pasha the cat who was so sweet and lovely to have around. We had lovely fresh eggs straight from the chook house and Ian even made us some delicious cake and cookies. We felt spoilt by our dear hosts and who made sure they covered everything so we hardly had to leave the place! It’s hard to find places that truly restore you. This is such a place. Surrounded by natural beauty it has everything you need for a perfect day of reading, swimming and settling down by the fire at night. We didn’t want to leave and would absolutely book again. 5 stars.

Relaxing & beautiful location, with welcoming hospitality provided by generous hosts Jen n Ian. Great site for a family gathering, handy to be able to pop back n forth to town & district for activities. Especially enjoyed the walk along the creek led by host Ian.

Loved having a picnic beside the river and listening to the water, the yoga space (I tried to get through the Ashtanga primary series with the laminated sheets) and the the grand piano in particular was joyous for me to play. All the little things were beautiful, the coy fish, nice coffee machine, the wine decanter, the bath tub with rainforest views and especially the fireplace.

If you are looking for somewhere special, look no further!! Rainforests, natural swimming hole with platypus sightings! Everything has been well thought out, you'll feel brand new after spending time at this tranquil setting. An experience I will not forget!!

What an AMAZING place! We stayed in the main house and were NOT disappointed. The house and property were beautifully presented and the owners and caretaker could not have been more helpful.
The property has so much to explore and experience depending on the type of get away you were after.
This would be a great venue for yoga retreats, family get togethers, girls weekends or even just some R&R like we wanted.
We would definitely recommend this little piece of paradise. Fingers crossed we can visit again some time.

We booked the house for my hubby’s 40th and had 2 other friends and their families for 5 nights. The views are stunning and the house was beautiful. Very tranquil and peaceful you had no option but to completely unwind and relax. It had a zen quality too it. The kitchen was completely decked out with everything you want or need, I love to cook so it was perfect for entertaining everyone. All the kids had a blast they loved the trampoline and the swings. Unfortunately they couldn’t go for a swim as it was raining for a couple of days and too cold.The adults enjoyed the flying fox. Jen and Ian were lovely and very welcoming (they weren’t there but to the lead up, during and after our stay) Shadow greeted us upon arrival, showed us around and very friendly and helpful if we needed anything. The kids loved pasha the cat, each wanting turns of holding him. Highly recommend it and would love to come back. Thank you for making Jez’s 40th very special.

We enjoyed our stay at Runaway thoroughly. We were made to feel very welcome by our lovely hosts (who were away at the time but were in constant contact with us). They even offered us a 2nd night at almost nothing. Our bedroom was surrounded by the Obi (with beautiful view overlooking the property), and the water was very relaxing to fall asleep to. Our 11 month son loved the huge shower with a gold fish pond, and the very friendly dog and cat. Will be keeping this place on our list for relaxing weekends away!

My husband, our 10 year old daughter and I had a good break at Runway to Maleny during the Queen's Birthday long weekend. Jen and Ian were so kind to accommodate us at a short notice, they even gave up their room for us! Their room was overlooking the river and greens surrounding it. It was very relaxing to just chill in their room or the deck outside with the sound of the river running. They were both away on the second day we were there but their lovely son, Finn and their housekeeper, Sky were there to show us around and if ever we need anything. Their dog,Hamish and cat, Pasha kept us entertained and warm when they snuggled with us while we relaxed and watched TV at the living area. We're lucky to have Phoenix too, Sky's son, to play with our daughter and took her on adventures around the house and river. There were also other guests staying at the guest cabin but it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves! We truly enjoyed the relaxing weekend break. If ever we make our way back there, we might go for the guest cabin. It's self-contained with a pool table, TV, DVD player and just 3 steps away from the shower/laundry cabin. My girls (4 and 7 years old) loved just hanging out in the garden, jumping on the trampoline and playing with Hamish and the cat. The hosts Jen and Ian were so welcoming. The property is stunning. While within their home, we loved the pod style living, it still provided the privacy we wanted. Our children entertained themselves in the beautiful spacious backyard on the trampoline and with Hamish while we sipped wine alfresco. Not to mention our 4 legged friend Bronte whom we had to unexpectedly bring along (thank you Jen and Ian for being so sympathetic) who enjoyed every minute of her stay. It was a lovely weekend away. Highly recommended for families.

We rented out the house, while in Maleny, for our wedding and it was so special being able to share the days before and the day of, with our family in this beautiful house. From the beginning of our correspondence to the very end, Jen and Ian have been wonderful and so accommodating. The views are second to none and allowed us to get so many gorgeous photo's that we will treasure forever. We never felt intruded upon and just enjoyed every minute of being there. I highly recommend Runaway to Maleny, to anyone who is planning a wedding in the Maleny/Montville area and is needing somewhere to stay.

Jen, Ian... It was a blessing to be part of your tranquility. We loved every moment and minute of it. Our two days was lived out to be short and sweet but we made it out to be a treasured stay. We don't manage to meet your son or enter the beautiful stream down our stay because of the rain and our return back to the wedding venue for a BBQ breakfast. We will be back and we will absolutely let our friends and family know for when they are looking for a time away in a remote and secluded sanctuary or just like us, an accommodation to fit a couples agenda. After having previously visited on a cold and wet weekend, we decided to visit again in the warmer months to really enjoy the delights of this amazing place. Ian and Jen are the most amazing hosts with nothing too much trouble. We felt like we were staying with family not at a guest house. This is not simply a place to stay as there is so much to do. The grandkids loved swimming in the creek and rock hopping up to the waterfall where a leisurely sit under the cascading waters gives the most devine massage. For a change of pace there is the excitement of the flying fox through the rainforest trees and as much time as you need on the sunken trampoline. Our grandkids love animals and were not disappointed here. Pasha the cat kept visiting for cuddles and Hamish the dog was forever ready to chase any thrown ball. Where ever you went on the property, one or both of these would normally follow. The highlight for the boys was cuddling the new chickens and checking for the freshly laid eggs each morning. While there was lots to keep the kids busy, the adults got to do what they were there for also, rest and relaxation. Sitting under the grape vine covered pergola with beverage of choice made it easy to keep an eye on the kids and soak up the beautiful scenery whilst listening to the haunting sounds from the bamboo grove. We stayed for five totally enjoyable days and will definitely be coming back for another stay. The grandkids are already asking when we will be going back to their favourite holiday destination.

We absolutely loved staying at your house. It was heavenly! You guys are the perfect hosts and we actually felt like we were at home with our folks with all your love. The property is just amazing with the rainforest and the water falls. Sitting below the waterfall was one of the biggest highlights for me. My partner enjoyed the on the house massage and we would come back for the combination of the immaculate house, amazing atmosphere and the loving hosts any day!! Enjoyed three very tranquil days at Ian and Jen’s property by the Obi Obi creek. It really is a wonderful retreat with an amazing garden/forest of interesting flora, fauna and quirky hideouts. The open space living is refreshing and invigorating and the ‘Shala’ provides a space for mindfulness and meditation. The location provides easy access to all that Maleny and the surrounding areas offer. The owners are welcoming and generous hosts who make you feel comfortable and very much at home. We would not hesitate to return if the opportunity arose.

Thank you for another magical, musical stay at your beautiful sanctuary on the creek. Standing within the creaking, swaying bamboo grove felt like I was eavesdropping on their conversations. Sitting by the creek at dusk, I watched the turtles swimming and caught a glimpse of the platypus, while my mother thoroughly enjoyed yoga class in the shala. We then relished the grand piano and played beautiful music throughout the evening. The gurgling water from the creek was such a peaceful sound through the night, punctuated only by a rainstorm. We also appreciated the generosity of our hosts, who sent us home with fresh garden produce, gifts and sweets to share with the littlies at home. There is something beautiful for each person to discover, explore and learn at Runaway, and we look forward to visiting with you when next in Maleny!

If you're after serenity, nature and a big comfy bed Runaway to Maleny is the perfect solution. My three days there were well spent by walking the gardens, playing with Hamish (the resident dog), shooting some pool, relaxing on the sun bed overlooking a piece of paradise. Thank you Jen and Ian for creating a special space like Runaway.

It was a wonderful experience staying here. Ian and Jen are really great hosts. We loved our room and the whole property. We would love to come again for a longer stay. It was extremely relaxing. Had the most perfect weekend her at Jen and Ian's. They were the most perfect hosts and very helpful about information regarding the area of Maleny. The house and surrounds were beautiful. The gardens and surrounding creek were worthy of the many photos we took. This was the perfect escape to another world.

What an amazing, magical place! It was like a wonderland for our two children. Even though we only stayed for one night we felt well rested and relaxed. We will return and stay for longer next time. The kids did not want to leave. They were so busy exploring, flying, swinging, jumping and swimming that they had no time for iPads, now isn't that refreshing! I highly recomend getting a massage whilst there as the masseuse is amazing! As for the owners Jen and Ian they went out of their way to make are stay one of the best family experiences we have ever had. :)

Our hosts, Jen and Ian, whilst they were away during our stay in their special sanctuary, were so helpful and sweet in the lead-up to our visit. Theirs is a beautiful, peaceful and meticulously well thought out haven which you can sense has been created with love in every nook and cranny. It’s truly a very special place and we feel privileged to have been able to stay there, even if just for a few nights. The kids fell in love with the hosts cat Pasha (who slept with them each night) and the family dog Hamish was very entertaining. Why? You'll find out for yourself once you stay there! We loved the pretty gardens, bamboo chapel, the thrilling flying fox across the beautiful creek and the entire property – we definitely want to come back when it’s a bit warmer so we can take advantage of swims in the creek. Maleny and Landsborough townships are both very close if you don't feel like cooking and the kids enjoyed outings to Australia Zoo, the Maleny markets and Mary Cairncross park, all very close and accessible. It is impossible not to fall in love with this place....thank you Jen, Ian, Shadow, Pasha & Hamish for having us share your secret garden!!!

For anyone that needs a place to retreat and rejuvenate - this is the place. It was only a short visit, but the peaceful surrounds, well thought out spaces, amenities and beautifully designed accommodation made the day to day stresses melt away from the moment my daughter and i entered the property. Runaway To Maleny is one of the most divine experiences I have had in all my years of traveling around the globe. Their passion for life, stunningly designed property, and enthusiasm to share literally brought me to tears of joy. A sanctuary of peace, harmony, laughter and love and a celebration of what is possible. Take the flying fox across to the island. Jump from initiation rock if you dare. Swim in the waterhole. Visit the Bamboo Cathedral. Listen to the birdlife. Yoga, meditation or a massage in the remarkable yoga shala. Or just be! It's well located between Montville and Maleny so there is plenty to do but you could just as happily do nothing. It's a beautiful setting amongst trees and rocks and a wonderful creek. Think massages, yoga, bushwalks and even psychic readings. Such a lovely change from impersonal hotels.

We were very fortunate to spend a couple of nights at Runaway recently. The owners, Jen & Ian, were away so we stayed in their master pod with our two kids (ages 6 & 9) and had the main living/kitchen area to ourselves. When we arrived, Shadow, the caretaker that lives close by, was there to greet us and show us all we needed to know. She was available at any stage to help us out if we needed it. The rooms were very clean and equipped with everything we could possibly have needed. Communication with the owners was excellent. They even called us after our first night to see if everything was going well. We were attracted to Runaway because of its close proximity to Obi Obi Creek (literally in the back yard) and the activities available to the kids. They had a lot of fun swimming in the creek, jumping on the trampoline, paddling in the kayak, exploring the gardens, the treasure hunt, playing with Pasha the cat, diving into the waterhole and whizzing across the creek on the flying fox. Even though we did a lot during our two days it still felt like we had a very relaxing stay. It was beautiful to wake up to the sound of the creek and the forest around us. Jen and Ian got home just before we left so it was wonderful to meet them. They are genuinely two beautiful people who have created a very special place. We hope to come back again.

We had an absolutely divine stay with Ian and Jen. We have never met hosts as kind or generous! Our accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the setting is a slice of paradise. Our kids cried when we had to leave- we will be back!
